New Tenders for Oil and Gas Exploration and Exploitation

Activities and investments in the Egyptian oil and gas sectors are constantly increasing. This is evidenced by two bidding rounds announced in February 2006. Ganope El Wadi Holding Company announced an international bid for the exploration and exploitation of natural gas and crude oil in eight blocks in the South Suez Gulf and the Eastern and Western Desert. In addition, the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) announced an international bid for the exploration and exploitation of natural gas and crude oil in 12 blocks in the Nile Delta, North Sinai and the Mediterranean Sea regions.

All companies specializing in natural gas and crude oil exploration and exploitation are invited to participate in the bids. They can obtain information regarding the conditions and requirements of the bids from Ganope (www.ganope.com) or EGAS (www.egas.com.eg).

Interested companies should submit their offers for both bids by July 16 2006.
